What I am working to accomplish in my paintings

Beyond the basics of painting landscapes, I am experimenting with my paints and brushes to communicate the feelings that I am experiencing while walking in these natural outdoor places. My goal in each painting is to bring a flat surface with a two dimensional image to life for the person viewing my painting.

When creating art becomes more than just painting pictures

When I was young and began my journey as in artist, I was in love with the act of producing images through drawing and painting. Because I grew up in a public school that had no formal art classes I found information where ever I could get it. In our library was an art section with basic drawing books and several books about Norman Rockwell and . I read everything that I could get my hands on and spent hours absorbing every image of every page of the large coffee table books filled with Norman Rockwell's paintings.
